From Sanders and Kathleen Read:
Our thanks to all who did such a good job of organizing and
producing our
great Reunion. The only thing lacking was all of you who were not able
to be there. We hope that many more of you will be able to gather two
years from now.
It was truly good to see those of you who were there. A special treat
was to meet some members of the family whom we had not met before.
Que Deus os abençoe ricamente. May God bless you richly.
Here's Kathleen.
What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful family in the faith in
addition to our family by natural birth! It was beautiful to hear how
the Holy Spirit has worked and is working in so many lives to bring
healing, provision just at the right time, guidance, and how the Lord
continues to call workers into His harvest here and in Brazil. How
grateful I felt for the ones who served so faithfully in Brazil for so
long and as it says in Psalm 92:12-14 they continue to flourish like the
palm tree, bringing forth fruit in old age, full of sap and green. I
also felt so grateful for the young adults, like Tim and Debbie, as well
as the others who spoke and shared their hearts and their passion for
the
Gospel. I'm grateful we could meet Carolina Leite, the only Brazilian
there who shared how she'd been so blessed with the gift of $200 that
very day. We got to return to Montreat this past weekend and learned
from Ellen Gartrell that her birthday is today, Aug. 19th. If you should
want to send a Parabens her e-mail is
leitec@montreat.edu.
Abraços,
Sanders e Kathleen
Dear Brasil FAMILY!
I just wanted to tell everyone how much it meant to me and my family to
be able to visit with so many of you this weekend in Montreat. I have
special memories of conversations with EACH of you that I saw. I came
away from the meeting feeling that indeed, my cup runneth over. All my
uncles and aunts and cousins from Brasil are quite literally my extended
family.
I would like to ask that if anyone took pictures at the Reunion, please
post them or let us know how we can view them somewhere in cyberspace. I
was so busy chatting with everyone that I did not take a single picture!
I can't believe that!
With much love and lots of SAUDADES,
Katie (Lindsay) Crosby and Family
Dear Steve,
Thanks for the initial posting of photos. We were unable to attend this
year, so it
was nice to get a glimpse of who and what we missed! I look forward to
more
pics.

events. It was absolutlely perfect. Looing forward to three years from
now.

GREETINGS TO ALL WHO COULD NOT COME!
I missed you! I wished so much you could
come. I am thankful I live only about an hour
away from Montreat...the weather was perfect
for travel and visiting. Our son Michael
took some pictures, along with a "slew" of
others. Hope some will be posted on the
Brazilnet and you can see who was there!
Why not write about what you are "doing"
so we can "visit" with you and have an
internet reunion with you - like we would
have had, were you able to be at the reunion?
We certainly do thank all those who worked hard
to make the reunion possible - GREAT WORK
AND MANY THANKS!
Hello everyone!
Yes, we did have a wonderful reunion! We were smaller in numbers
this year but we can have a larger reunion again next time; begin
planning to come to the next one maybe two years from now (instead
of
three years). I saw numerous people I'd seen at previous reunions
and I met a few people I hadn't met before! Good to renew, re-
connect, and make new friends. It is amazing and wonderful how
connected we feel to extended missionary family and relate so well
to
one another!
Thanks, Uncle Bill and Aunt Louise Brandt, for giving me a ride to
the reunion! Thanks for having me in your home before and after the
reunion between times of my husband dropping me off last week (from
our District Assembly) and picking me up today.
Thanks to the planning committee and all who helped!
At the reunion I shared a 'dream' of mine to put
up an interactive
website where we can each post any photos, news, recipes, prayer
requests, articles etc. I need someone who would be willing to 'co-
host' the site along with me. I also am wondering if anyone is
interested in helping (especially MKs) with the cost of the site
($29.95 per year). If a dozen people threw in just a couple of
dollars each, we've have it covered! I am hoping to extend access to
this private website to all PCUSA Brazil mission-related folks as
well as any and all EB (Escola Bandeirante) students and staff.
Fortaleza Academy has had such a website for the past 10 years and
it
is a wonderful way of connecting with each other on a regular basis!
In order to consider doing this, I would need to hear from those of
you who might be interested so that I may have your email addresses
and to know of how many people are interested. If you know of any
other missionaries or MKs from our Brazil mission or from EB, please
contact them as well! I need email addresses so that I am able to
invite you to this private website. I also really *really* need to
hear from someone who would be willing to co-host it with me. Please
contact me! I still have the same email address for now and will let
y'all know when I change it.
