Irene is the daughter of Presbyterian missionaries Robert
Lodwick and Irene Alderton. She was born in Rio Verde, Brazil.
Her great-grandmother’s brother, Edgar Pinkerton, was a
Presbyterian missionary in Brazil in the nineteenth century, and
her aunt, Margaret Lodwick Pittman, served in Brazil for 25
years following the death of her husband, who was also a
missionary. Born in
Thonburi, Thailand, Michael grew up in the Roman Catholic
Church. He is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological
Seminary and a minister member of Cincinnati Presbytery, where
he served the Seaman and Cherry Fork Presbyterian churches. He
has a doctor of ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological
Seminary in pastoral care and counseling.
Irene and Michael met at
Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina, where both
earned undergraduate degrees in elementary education.
Irene, who has taught
school in North Carolina, Kentucky and Ohio, is a member of Mt.
Olivet Presbyterian Church in Trenton, Ohio. |
